This photo was taken at the official opening ceremony of The 203: Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity at the University of New Brunswick in February of 2018. As founder and coordinator of the centre I was the lead organizer of the event, which featured guest speakers, a poster campaign, and interactive activities for over 150 people. Here I am pictured with my former colleague Jackie Toner, to my right.

QMUNITY Student Group, 2016-2019

As part of my activism at the University of New Brunswick I co-founded a student group called QMUNITY to provide space and visibility to queer students and staff on campus. As president of the group for three consecutive years, I oversaw several events, meetings, and initiatives.

Colour Youth Internship, Athens, Greece, 2017

In the summer of 2017, my colleague Hayden Richardson and I completed an internship with a queer activist organization called Colour Youth. My role with the organization was manifold, and I worked on a lot of different projects: I created and co-facilitated workshops on conflict resolution and group discussion, traveled around the country assisting with Pride events and demonstrations, and I learned to manage a physical resource centre.
Here I am featured with my good friend and fellow activist Raziel Soel at the Thessaloniki Pride festival, where we had a Colour Youth booth set up.
This photo is taken from the rooftop of the Colour Youth Centre in Athens, Greece.
Photo features Hayden Richardson in glitter beard.
Upon returning from Athens, Hayden and I created a presentation to share with our college cohort.

Participatory Action Research Project, 2016-2017

This photo was taken to promote a SSHRC funded research project that I contributed to during undergraduate degree. The project used participatory action research (PAR) to explore the experiences of queer, non-binary, and transgender youth in rural New Brunswick through the creation of an educational tool using RPG video game software. I am featured here in orange with the principle investigator, game developer, and some of my fellow participants. Photo by Lance Blakney UNB.

NYU Different Games Conference, 2016

In 2016, the above project was accepted at the New York University Different Games conference, a weekend long academic event featuring interdisciplinary works that represented marginalized voices in DIY and independent video games. There, we presented our research as a group, discussing the video game we had created and its pedagogical implications, the use of PAR as research methodology, and our process of writing a script informed by queer theory.
